Making crafts can be expensive. Many of the products that you buy for it can also be hard to find. It depends on where you live and how many crafts stores are in your area. But to make crafts, you don’t necessarily need to use products that are specifically designed for craft purposes. There are many other products that you can use that you already have. Some things that you throw away every day are perfect for using on craft projects.
Kids love to make things. Empty juice bottles make a great container to make a piggy bank out of. Some of them can lay down and just decorate the outside and cut a hole in it. Others you may want to stand up. Empty oatmeal containers or coffee containers are great for this too. Anything like that works great. You can use them for banks or a container to keep crayons in or toys. They work great for keeping your craft supplies in also.
Toilet paper and paper towels rolls are great to use for making animals by decorating the outside and putting a head of some sort on. You can make a kaleidoscope also. There are many things that you can make from a toilet paper roll.
We throw away boxes every single day. Boxes come in many different sizes. This is why they work great for making things. If you decorate the outside and let them do it, it makes it a hundred times better for them to play with. They can make cars, airplanes and boats. You can even make a little play house if the box is big enough. Another way to use boxes is to cut up the cardboard and use the cardboard for certain things. You can use empty cereal boxes for many things too.
Dried beans work good to use as eyes. You can also make shakers by putting them in another container. They also work great to teach a child counting. Toothpicks and popsicle sticks are good to use also. They can be used as pieces in certains crafts. But toothpicks are great for drawing in clay also. Popsicle sticks can be used to spread paint with also.
Cookie cutters work great for cutting out play dough or clay. They can also work great for making ornaments at Christmas time or any other time of year. They are washable and don’t have to permanantly stay in the craft supplies either.
There are many more things that you can use for crafting. Your imagination is one of the best things that you can use when you are making crafts. You can make anything if you put your mind to it.
